The first coffee plant was transported to the New World in 1715 by a Frenchman who established a plantation on the island of Martinique. Plants were transported from island to island and later between colonies on the mainland. From the shade grown, hand picked aromatic beans of Colombia and Costa Rica; to the full bodied, nutty flavored Hawaiian Kona, the Americas and the Caribbean produce a large variety of excellent, high quality beans.
