Excellent AIB Inspection Results: November 29th we called in American Institute of Baking (AIB) inspection agents to rate our procedures in production quality, occupational safety and for a quality systems evaluation. SunJam: Southeast Barista Competition: October 19-21 in Clearwater, Florida. This year's hosts are Ambex Roasters, Monin Gourmet Flavorings, and Astoria/General Espresso Equipment. Fresh Cup magazine is the event's official media sponsor. This is the first time a SCAA-sanctioned regional competition will be held in conjunction with concentrated barista and roaster trainings. The event is structured to bring novice and experienced barista together along with new and expert roasters. Terry Davis of Ambex says, "We want this event to foster interaction between groups that normally self-segregate." Social events are scheduled for each evening as well.
Wired Whisk Grand Opening: September 20th. We turned up to support Christine Nordstrom at the grand opening of Wired Whisk Bakehouse. She creates fantastically delicious treats. Stop by for a visit with the chef and a cup of Latitude coffee!

Debra, Tom, and Teo in front of Wired Whisk BakehouseFlorida Restaurant & Lodging Show: The Latitude 23.5 booth in Orlando was packed for three days with people looking for products and distribution information. We featured a custom-made espresso machine and provided coffee and espresso to the masses. One of the highlights of the show was our own Lars Nordstrom participating in the Best of Brew challenge against Barista Haolis Aguilar during The Ultimate Barista Challenge. We were honored to be asked and had a great time cheering him on.
Latitude 23.5 Acquires Cinnamon Bay Coffee Brand: We are excited about the integration of Cinnamon Bay's brand of super-premium coffee with Latitude 23.5's own brand. In addition to great coffee, Cinnamon Bay Coffee brings us their pioneering Profile Roasting technology. Each of our roasters will be able to consistently duplicate desired coffee taste each and every time. We intend to invest in and grow both coffee brands and utilize Terry Davis's expertise to expand our direct coffee sourcing program to continue to deliver a consistent cup to our customers.

Local Coffee & Tea Acquires Latitude 23.5 Retail Division: We have transitioned out of retail to focus on coffee production, wholesale distribution, training and consulting and private label programs. "This is a great opportunity for Local Coffee & Tea to really drive and improve the retail business we started. It's also a chance for Latitude 23.5 to have complete, uncompromised commitment to building our wholesale division. I'm excited and positive about this transition," explains Dimitry Erez, President. He adds, "This divestiture allows us to expand our roasting operation and focus on service to our wholesale clients." Our focus will continue to include local businesses, organizations, and the community in a proactive and positive manner.
